Shear Rate and Apparent Viscosity Ranges
As A Function of Die Diameter

Our capillary extrusion rheometers are designed to deliver your material to the die at a range of accurately-controlled volume flow rates, and at each flow rate, the material's pressure is measured by a pressure transducer. The apparent shear rate at the die wall generated for materials of certain apparent viscosities depends of the die diameter (for circular profile dies). In our diagrams, below, the range of shear rate and viscosities testable at each die diameter is shown by the blue zone, assuming a 20 mm barrel diameter (we can supply other barrel geometry if required).
