The MDLC series has been developed with miniature size and low weight to measure tension and/or compression in static and dynamic applications and to connect directly to digital networks without the need for additional conditioning electronics. All the MDLC needs is a power supply and a suitable communication port.

The MDLC sensing element is a fully temperature-compensated strain gauge bridge equipped with high stability strain gauges to optimise performance at low ranges and frequencies. The strain gauge is connected to an integral DCell digital strain gauge conditioning amplifier (also available separately from Celsum Technologies). The DCell provides an energising voltage to the strain gauge, is fully programmable, has an integral shunt calibration resistor, and has an RS485 digital interface available in a choice of protocols.
